This multifunctional merino wool balaclava is warm, comfortable, and made from natural fibres. It has a full face cover and works great as a cold weather ski mask as well as for other activities, such as fishing, riding a motorcycle, hunting, running, hiking, and other outdoor activities and occasions when you wish to keep your head warm.

Although this is originally designed as a men’s merino wool balaclava, it would work just as well for women.

Full face cover balaclava

This balaclava provides cover for your head, neck, shoulders, part of your chest, and part of your face, leaving only the area around the eyes open. Thus, this expedition balaclava is particularly suitable for soldiers and skiers. 

The balaclava is made in such a way that you can pull the part that covers the lower face down to uncover the nose and mouth if needed.

The balaclava is made from 100% merino wool which has the following qualities:

• ✔ Breathable pleasant fabric that is durable and easy to look after. It quickly absorbs and wicks away moisture and helps to maintain optimal body temperature.
• ✔ Relatively thin and lightweight fabric that does not impede movement and takes little space. 
• ✔ The fabric does not irritate skin and is naturally antibacterial. It is resistant to staining and does not absorb odours. 

Do you know where the word ‘balaclava’ comes from?

The word for these coverings comes from the Battle of Balaclava that took place in Ukraine in 1854 during the Crimean War. At that time British and Irish soldiers were sent to fight Russian soldiers during cold weather conditions and woollen head coverings, balaclavas, were widely used among the soldiers.

Recommended washing with ecological washing powder at 40 degrees in a washing machine.

No machine drying is recommended.

Ironing is recommended with wool drying mode.
